A 60-year-old man, Isah Nalabbo, was also on Monday remanded in prison custody till December 12, 2016 when his alleged rape case will come up for mention in the court.
Nalabbo is facing a one-count charge of alleged rape of an eight-year-old girl at Bauche village in the Safana Local Government Area of the state.
The offence, according to the Police First Information Report with number: KT/541X/16, on the case, is contrary to Section 283 of the Penal Code.
The victim’s father, Ado Dabiru, reported the incident at Safana Divisional Police headquarters, claiming that Nalabbo, who is his neighbour, committed the offence on May 11, 2016.
In another news, Three men on Monday appeared before a Katsina Senior Magistrates court for alleged robbery of over N11m at the Umaru Musa Yar’Adua University branch of a first generation bank.
The trio: Suleiman Hamisu, Usman Ibrahim and Onyishi Uche, along with others now at large, were alleged to have burgled the bank’s branch penultimate Saturday and made away with N11,251,000.
The three accused persons, according to the Police First Information Report on the incident, are residents of Katsina.
