Katsina State Government has been called upon to look into the plight of its workers not been paid their salaries for three (3) months now.
One of the staff affected from Batsari local government -Mal. Aminu Sulaiman Abko made this appeal when he visited Companion FM news room.
Mal. Aminu said the inability of the commercial banks to produce their Bank Verification Number (VBN) to the micro finance banks that operates their salary accounts is responsible for the delay. He then further appealed to the state government to hasten the payment of May salaries to local governments workers and primary schools teachers in order to cushion the hardship they are experiencing especially now during the month of Ramadan.
In his reaction, the commissioner for local governments and chieftaincy affairs of the state -Alhaji Abdulkadir Ahmad Zakka warned that any staff found absent on his or her duty post for 3 weeks will be sacked while also putting the blame squarely on the affected staff saying that they were asked to go and do their varification exercise since but they refuse to go.
