The Katsina State House of Assembly has amended the State Local  Government Law, 2012, by extending the tenure of local government chairmen by one year: from two to three years. Equally, the assembly has introduced qualification to the power of the governor on appointing a transition committee or sole administrators subject to the confirmation of the house. The Katsina state government has paid it grant to the Universal Basic Education Board over N1.42bn for the construction and rehabilitation of 373 primary schools in the state.
