Harvest crashes price of foodstuff in Katsina Market

Daily trust reports that the price of farm produce has significantly reduced as farmers are recording bumper harvests in Katsina State. Several factors, such as complementary and composite demands of the produce have seen prices dwindle in recent weeks. Sorghum for example was expensive last season with its price at between N16,000 and N18,000 by this time but this year, Daily Trust gathered that it costs as low as N9,000 due to the bumper harvest of maize and millet that are its direct substitutes. Over 600 LG staff dragged Masari to court over non-payment of salaries

About 610 staff drawn from 34 local government areas of Katsina state have sued the state government to the National Industrial Court sitting in Kano over nonpayment of salaries for 19 months. The Katsina State Government on Thursday said that it had invested over N7.5 billion on the construction of 200 kilometers of roads across the state.
