The Chief Judge (CJ) of Katsina State, Justice Musa Abubakar, has cautioned clerics against using personal sentiments in their preachingS to Muslim congregations, dailytrust.com reports.

Abubakar stated this while inaugurating the state Da’awa Committee (Islamic Preachers) whose members were drawn from the 34 local government areas of Katsina State on Monday.

He also warned against the use of manipulated and doctored media content to blackmail or defame innocent personalities.

“You should always verify any news item that came to you through the social media because they are full of blackmail and mischief, all in an attempt to damage people’s reputation,” he added.

Abubakar admonished Muslims to pay special attention in taking care of the graveyards in their respective areas.

He noted that most of the cemeteries in the state were in bad shape, adding that efforts should be made to put them in good shape.

In his remarks, Governor Aminu Masari has tasked the committee to exhibit good conduct and avoid using vulgar language in their preachings.

The governor, who was represented by a former Grand Khadi of the state, Alhaji Ahmad Batagarawa, urged the Islamic scholars to strive in spreading the teachings Islam in accordance with the laid down principles.

It was reported that members of the newly inaugurated Dawah committee included female preachers
