The UNDP –GEF programme would assist Farmers to improve their production through the provision of high-quality inputs.
The managing director of Katsina state Agricultural and Rural Development Authority KTARDA Alh Muhamad Saidu Muhamad stated that at one-day training for Agro dealers and extension agents in Katsina ADP conference hall.
All Saidu who is also the UNDP – GEF project manager said some of the Farmers would be given the inputs as capital for Farmers in their locality for others to buy from them. He also said the training was to enable them to know how to handle the chemicals for their safety and the community at large.
The consultant of the training Dr Dauda Gambo said the most important thing about any business is capital, location and customers without any one of them you consider the bossiness as a failure. He said the business idea can not materialize if the necessary factors are not in place and advise the inputs dealers to work closely with extension agents to succeed.
The resource person who is also the Katsina State Chairman of Agro – dealers association Alh Sani Abubakar Darma Explained in detail the safe handling of agro-inputs.
Sani Darma further Said those who engaged in adulterated of the inputs would be punished according to the law.
The Desk officer of the project Alh Mansur Sulaiman said the inputs distributed include Fertilizers, Improved Seeds, insecticides, Herbicides among others would be in the UNDP – GEF tag inputs Shops, which are to be inspected at intervals.
