Katsina Assembly seeks disbandment of boarder drill team
Katsina state House of Assembly has directed its Clerk to write letter to the state government seeking the disbandment of Boarder drill in the state, Katsina Beat reports.
This was sequel to a motion moved by member representing Jibia constituency, Mustafa Yusuf following the accident involving Customs officers that led to death of several people in Jibia yesterday, Monday.
The lawmaker lamented that Customs officers, especially those in the boarder drill team, over speed in towns with impunity.
Our source reports that the House unanimously condemned the activities of the boarder drill which resulted to the death of the people.
The House also resolved to write an official letter to the National Assembly to protest the activities of the officers on the border drill team.
Boarder drill is a joint task team of Customs officers, DSS, Police and Immigration officers being supervised by the office of the National Security Adviser.
