The Katsina State Governor, Rt Hon Aminu Bello Masari has declared tomorrow being Monday, 9th August, 2021 and 1st of Muharram, 1443 as public holiday.

This is contained in a statement signed by the Commissioner of Information, Home Affairs and Culture, Alhaji Abdulkarim Yahaya Sirika.

The holiday is to commemorate the beginning of Islamic New year Hijrah 1443 AJ.

The letter reads in part: “This is to inform the general public that His Excellency the Executive Governor of Katsina State Rt Hon. AMINU BELLO MASARI HAS Declared tomorrow being ‘1st of Muharram, 1443 and 9th, August 2021 as a Work Free Day in Katsina State.

“This is to Commemorate Islamic New year Hijrah 1443 AJ. This is part of the of the gestures of His Excellency the Governor, to remind Muslims in the State about the Islamic Calendar and a sign of respect to Hijrah as a Milestone in all Muslims life.

“He enjoyed people to use the period to reflect and live their lives according to the teaching of Islam and practice of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW)
The Governor also urge all Muslims and other Religions to use the Holiday to Pray to the Almighty Allah for peace, Unity, Progress and above all, the Challenges of Insecurity bedeviling the State and the country as a whole.

“Thanks in anticipation of your usual cooperation.”
