Katsina Assembly Creates New District In Daura Emirate
The Katsina State House of Assembly has approved the creation of additional district in Daura Emirate.
The House gave the approval during an emergency sitting on Monday presided over by the Speaker, Rt Hon Tasi’u Musa Maigari.
The House leader and member representing Mai’adua constituency Hon Abubakar Suleiman Abukur and Honorable Mustapha Rabe Musa presented the motion on the floor of the House and was seconded by member representing Daura constituency, Hon Nasiru Yahaya.
The presenters of the motion seek the approval of the House for the creation of Dumurkol district from the present Koza district.
According to them, the motion followed a request of the Katsina State Governor in line with section 7, sub section 1 and 2 of Katsina State Local Government Laws 2000 as amended.
After deliberation, the House passed the motion and the Speaker subsequently directed the Clerk of the House to communicate the decision of the House to the Executive arm of government for proper action.
Katsina Post learnt that Dumurkol is the ancestral village of the President Muhammadu Buhari.
