Federal High Court Vacation Stalls Mahdi Shehu’s Trial

Federal High Court Adjourns Trial Of Mahdi Shehu Indefinitely 

Mahdi Shehu’s trial At Federal High Court Kano Adjourned Indefinitely 

The trial between the Katsina State born self acclaimed whistleblower, Alhaji Mahdi Shehu and Katsina State Government at the Federal High Court, Kano has been postponed indefinitely pending fixing of a new date by the presiding judge.

This, according to Katsina Post findings is due to the commencement of the annual vacation of judges of the Federal High Courts across states of the Federation on Monday July 26th, 2021.

Recall that the trial between the due was adjourned to the 26th and 27th of July for continuation by the presiding Judge, Justice A Liman during the court sitting on 28th June, 2021.

The vacation will end on September 17, 2021 and a new date will be fix thereafter.

Mahdi Shehu was dragged before the court by the Katsina State government for alleged cybercrime.

According to the charge sheet by prosecution, Katsina State government is alleging that between May to July 2020, the accused while acting in concert and with the intent to defame, insult, cause enmity, hatred, Ill will and damaged the reputation and integrity of Katsina State Governor Aminu Bello And his Cabinet.

He was also granted bail by Justice Ambrose Lewis-Allagoa earlier before he was transferred to other jurisdiction.
