Emir of Katsina suspends Eid-el-Kabir Sallah durbar
The Katsina Emirate council have announced the suspension of Sallah durbar and other public activities during the forthcoming Eid-el-Kabir for security reasons.
However, the emirate advised residents to use the period in offering prayers for peace in the state and the country.
Sources revealed that the step was taken as a result of the current security situation in the state.
The spokesman for the Katsina Emirate Council, Iro Bindawa, confirmed the development on Wednesday.
“Yes, the emirate council has suspended activities concerning durbar during the Sallah but His Eminence, the Emir, has implored residents to use the Sallah period to offer prayers for the state and for Nigeria,” Bindawa stated.
