Funtua Integrated Textile, Garment Industrial Park Commences Soon
The Federal Government of Nigeria under the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari is set to commence the construction of an Integrated Textile And Garment Industrial Park In Funtua Local Government Area of Katsina State.
This was disclosed in Abuja on Tuesday, July 6, 2021 by the Director General of the Nigeria Export Processing Zone, Mr. Adesoji Adesugba during the handing over ceremony of the Certificate of Occupancy of the site.
The project, which will be completed in eighteen months is expected to create a minimum of 70,000 direct and indirect jobs for Nigerians.
According to Mr Adesoji, the current President Buhari’s led administration has already spent about N500m so far on the development of the project site.
Katsina Post learnt that apart from the tens of thousands of jobs this project will create, the Textile and Garments Park itself will surely revamp cotton farming and give farmers great financial profits.
Funtua region is known for cotton production and was once a hub for textile production.
