UMYUK begins part-time degree in 15 programmes
The Katsina State-owned Umaru Musa Yar’adua University has disclosed that it has concluded arrangements to commence part-time degree programmes. It is expected to begin with initial 15 programmes.
A release signed by the Head of Public Relations of the varsity, Abdulhamid K. Danjuma said the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Sunusi Mamman revealed this on Wednesday in Katsina while inaugurating an eight-member implementation management committee for the establishment of the School of Continuing Education, directing that the school should run on a part-time basis to achieve set objectives.
A further breakdown shows there are five part-time Science Education Degree Programmes in the Faculty of Education. They are B.Sc. (Education) in Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Geography and Physics as well as a Social Science Education Degree (B.Sc. Education Economics).
There are six part-time Arts Education Degree programmes in the Faculty of Education which are B.A. (Education) in Arabic, English, French, Hausa, History and Islamic Studies.
