URBP demolishes illegal structures in Katsina
Katsina State Urban and Regional Planning Board, URBP has demolished some structures erected illegally at Morawa lay-out in Batagarawa local Government Area.
Similarly, the board has stop a proposed development on setback Dandagoro along Katsina-Kano road.
The exercise lead TPL. Abdullahi Gide Abubakar was carried out by the team of Development Control Unit of URBP.
The structures were demolished following the expiration of demolition notice served to the owner by URBP.
Before the demolition of the structures, the owner was also served with ejection notice but refuse to comply with the directives.
The owner of the structures was found encroaching the road which lead to blockage of the access road.
The offense is contrary to the Urban and Regional Planning provide laws, hence the demolition based on the provision of the law.
Immediately after the team leader, TPL. Abdullahi Gide Abubakar said the board would not hesitate in discouraging anything capable of sabotaging planning in the state.
TPL. Abdullahi Gide who said the board would not relent effort in ensuring proper town planning, appealed people to seek permission before any building and sub-division based law of the law establishing the board.
He explained that, encroachment, illegal subdivision and development of setback are offensive, that the law would not condone.
