Katsina Assembly Meets Masari, 17 Brigade Commander Over Worsening Insecurity
The Katsina state House of Assembly have resolved to meet Governor Aminu Bello Masari and other stakeholders on the 5th of July, 2020 over worsening bandits’ attacks, kidnapping and cattle rustlers in many parts of the State.
The resolution followed a motion of urgent public importance presented to the House by member representing Batsari local government in the Assembly, Honorable Jabir Yau Yau during Wednesday plenary.
The Deputy Speaker, Honorable Shehu Dalhatu Tafoki who presided over the Assembly’s sitting thereafter directed the Clerk of the House to transmit the House’s resolution to the Executive Governor.
Earlier while raising the motion, Hon Yau Yau complained to the assembly that some 28 people have not been seen since their abduction by bandits in Batsari on the 18th of May this year.
Deputy Director of Press at the Assembly, Mukhtar Abba Usman, also told newsmen that the House of Assembly members will also meet with the Commander of the 17 Brigade over the same issue.
Abba said Deputy speaker of the House, Dalhatu Shehu Tafoki has decided that 34 members of the House would be at the governor’s office on the appointed date for the meeting.
