Defamation: Court case between Mahdi Shehu and Malumfashi lawmaker resumes tomorrow
The court case filed before the Katsina State High Court Of Justice by the member representing Malumfashi constituency, Honorable Aminu Ibrahim against the Katsina born businessman, Mahdi Shehu over defamation of character and injurious falsehood will continue tomorrow at Malumfashi.
Recall that Hon Aminu Ibrahim through his lawyers, in November, 2020 instituted a case before the State High Court against the defendant accusing him of defamation of Character against his person in one of the defendant’s videos clips he released in Hausa.
In the court suit seen by Katsina Post, the plaintiff prayed for the court to mandate the defendant to pay the sum of One Hundred Million Naira (N100m) in general damages for defamation of his character and injurious falsehood.
Other prayers by the plaintiff are for the Court mandate the defendant to refraim from his defamatory statement and injury falsehood against the Plaintiff and tender apology in not less than 2 national dally newspaper as well as for him to be paid the Sum et Five million Naira special damages being the fees paid to his Counsel and also Cost of filing the Suite.
But after serving the defendant with the court order, he raised a preliminary objection to it citing irregularities in it.
