Katsina gov’t establishes State c’ttee on nutrition for frontline insecurity affected LGAs
The Katsina State Government stakeholders have agreed to establish a State Steering Committee for Nutrition on Humanitarian Needs for Nutrition in the 8 Frontline Security Compromised LGAs to be headed by Secretary to the Government of the State.
This is part of the resolutions by the stakeholders at the end of a 1-day High level advocacy meeting on Humanitarian Needs for Nutrition in the 8 Frontline Security Compromised LGAs of Batsari, Danmusa, Dandume, Jibia, Faskari, Sabuwa, Kankara and Safana LGAs organized by the State Primary Health Care Development Agency, SPHCA in collaboration with State Ministry Of Health and UNICEF.
The meeting was well attended by the representative of the SGS, Hon Commissioner SMOH Engr Yakubu Nuhu Danja, Hon Commissioner Women Affairs Haj Rabia Mohammed, Rep of Commissioner of Budget, Chief of UNICEF Field Office Kano, Executive Secretary SPHCA, Heads of LG Administration , Directors PHC and Nutrition Focal Persons of the 8 LGAs.
Some of the others resolutions agreed at the end of the Meeting include the reactivation of Task Force on Ready to Use Therapeutic Foods in States and LGAs as well as the provision of Essential drugs and other Commodities in the LGAs where Outpatient Therapeutic Centres will be established.
