Katsina Sports Commissioner inspects renovation of Stadium
Katsina gov’t upgrades township stadium with artificial grass carpet, spectators’ cage
Katsina State Commissioner of Sports and Social Development Alhaji Sani Aliyu Danlami has expressed satisfaction over the ongoing general renovation of some Stadia across the State.
The affected stadia include that of Katsina, Daura, Funtua and Malumfashi.
The Commissioner, who made the remark when he inspected the first phase of general renovation work of Katsina Township Stadium said the work consists of construction of spectators stand cage, provision of water tanks and artificial grass as well as general renovation of the existing structures.
Honorable Sani Aliyu Danlami said the second phase of the renovation which will soon be approved by the government will include provision of track and field events sections, and general renovation of players dressing rooms.
The Commissioner said the Governor is spending huge amount of money to improve Sports and sporting activities in the State to make Youth more productive.
Alhaji Sani Aliyu Danlami called on Youth to go beyond support but to participate actively in sports to improve their income and become self-reliant.
Earlier, the Katsina State Sports Director Alhaji Nalado Iro Kankia who conducted the Commissioner round thanked the Government for prioritizing sporting activities.
Also speaking, the Stadium Manager Alhaji Umar Aliyu Saulawa commended the Commissioner and Governor Aminu Bello Masari for doing all what is required in boosting sporting activities in the State.
