Notorious bandits’ leader terrorizing Katsina State, Dankarami, reportedly badly injured
A notorious criminal, gun runner and bandits’ gang leader, popularly known as Dankarami who is also believed to be one of the masterminds of the Kankara School boys abduction is currently battling for survival due to injuries sustained in a clash between his gang and a rival group.
Dankarami is the head of an armed group notorious for cattle rustling, abduction and terrorizing communities especially around Safana, Danmusa and parts of Batsari Local Government Areas of Katsina State, Northwest Nigeria.
He reportedly sustained serious injuries in a clash on January 23 between armed men belonging to Mani Na Saleh Mai Dan Doki and his gang at Illela village of Safana Local Government Area of Katsina.
At least 20 members of Dan Karami group were killed by the rival camp as they fought over the control some expensive guns and ammunitions as well as some rustled cattle herd.
Sources also said nine civilians in the area were also killed in the crossfire.
Ethnic Rivalry and confrontation over control of livestock and territory have led to frequent battles between armed groups and the killing of leaders.
