FG to establish Airforce Operation Base in Funtua
Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar has inspected a piece of land donated by the Katsina State Government for the establishment of a Forward Operations Base in Funtua Town, according to Radio Nigeria.
The 1.1 kilometer peice of land is located at Goruwa- Mai-Beyney an outskirts of Funtua Town.
Air Marshal Sadique says the new Base would make addressing challenges of insecurity in Katsina and Zamfara states much easier for the Nigeria Air Force in the ongoing ‘Operations Hadarin Daji’.
Sarkin Maskan Katsina District Head of Funtua Idris Sambo Idris commended the development adding that Members of the Community will give their maximum corporation to the Nigeria Air Force in their efforts towards ending the ongoing Banditry and Kidnapping in the Area.
Sambo lamented over the continued Killings and Kidnapping by suspected Bandits which he said, members of the Community have promised to assist security operatives with credible information to aid in tackling the menace.
Head of Local Government Administration in Funtua Local Government Area, Umar Tsoho Mustapha says Katsina State Government is making arrangements to pay over N20 million as compensation to owners of the Land.
