Why we don’t criticise leaders now – Katsina Izala leader replies Mahdi Shehu
The leader of Jama’atul Izalatul bidi’a wa’iqamatussuna, JIBWIS in Katsina State and a renown Islamic Scholar, Sheikh Yakubu Musa Hassan Katsina has shade more light and gave reasons as to why himself and his compatriots in JIBWIS in the country don’t criticise President Buhari in their Friday Sermons or on their pulpits in mosques like before.
In a well circulated video on social media platforms posted by one Sulaiman Yakubu Musa believed to be his son, Sheikh Yakubu Musa said they don’t criticise the President openly because he is a Muslim and Islamic teachings have established guidelines on ways of correcting a Muslim leader.
Katsina Post learnt that the video was for Sheikh to informed the general public the answer he gave to Mahdi Shehu, a Katsina-born self-acclaimed non-commercial whistleblower, when he asked him why they don’t preach to power like the previous governments.
“We criticise previous government (Jonathan’s government) because they were not Muslim. Now, the President is a Muslim and I challenged anyone who has any evidence to show that I publicly challenged Ummaru Musa (late President Ummaru Musa Yar’adu’a) to come forward.
“This one (President Buhari) is a Muslim. In fact, as everyone knows, we were at the forefront of campaigning for him during the campaigns. We didn’t hide it for anyone and people were convinced.
“We gave reasons why he should be voted based on what we believe of his characters of being honest, fair and transparent.
“We as Ahlil-Sunnah anything we do, we do it base on the teachings of the Prophet (Muhammad SAW). The Prophet taught us how to remind leaders of their responsibilities.”
