
Over 10,000 people get COVID-19 palliatives in Katsina – Dep Gov
Over two thousand less privileged have benefitted with covid-19 palliative provided by the Federal Government in Katsina Local Government Area.
The Commodities distributed include Bags of maize, Millet and Guinea corn.
Speaking at the occasion the Deputy Governor Alhaji Mannir Yakubu said the food items were provided by the Federal Government to cushion the effect of Covid-19 pandamic to people.
He explained that the beneficiaries were selected from across the twelve political wards of the area.
The deputy governor pointed out that similar gesture was distributed to less privileged previously to assist the beneficiaries to feel a sense of belonging.
Yakubu called on the beneficiaries to make good utilization of the food items and continue supporting government policies and programes.
The member representing katsina local government at the state House of Assembly Alhaji Ali Abu Albaba described the gesture as timely and commended the Federal government for the palliatives.
Albaba noted that the gesture will greatly assist the beneficiaries to cushion the effects of covid-19 pandemic.
The Head of katsina local government Administration, Alhaji Sule Nalado Kankia expressed appreciation to the state and federal Governments for initiating various programs aimed at improving the plight of the electorate.
