Katsina gov’t to secure fresh N50bn loan to finance 2021 budget
The Katsina State government under the leadership of Governor Aminu Bello Masari has perfected plans to secure fresh loan to the tune of N50bn to finance the state’s 2021 budget, Katsina Post learned.
This was disclosed to newsmen by the Katsina State Honorable Commissioner of Budget and Economic Planning, Hon Farouk Lawal Jobe on Wednesday shortly after the state Executive Council meeting.
According to him, the loan will be use by the Katsina State government to complete the ongoing projects started by the present administration.
“In order to fulfill the Governor’s promise of the completion of all capital projects started by this administration, we have initiated some plans by entering into an emergency agreement with some private partners that will provide a loan to the tune of N50bn to the state government.
“When we get those monies, we will then channel them directly into these projects”, he said.
Recall that the state Executive Council also approved the sum of N283bn as the 2021 proposed budget.
