Breaking: Katsina gov’t orders for reopening of schools
Katsina state Government under the leadership of Governor Aminu Bello Masari has announced that all secondary and primary schools in the state will be reopened on Monday 5th October 2020 across the state.
This was disclosed to newsmen by the state commissioner of Education Associate Professor Badamasi Lawal Charanci on Tuesday at the conference Hall of the ministry.
Recall that schools were shut down since March to avoid spread of Coronavirus.
He said all preventive measures to stop the spread of the virus have been put in place by the state government.
“This is to inform the general public, especially Parents and Guardians that all Public, Community and Private Primary and Secondary Schools will re-open on Monday 5th October, 2020 for continuation of full academic activities. Boarding Students are to resume on (Sunday 4th October, 2020)
“The following guidelines are to be strictly adhered to in the Schools: –
1. It is mandatory for Staff and Students to wear face-masks
2. Social distancing must be observed everywhere in the Schools
3. Personal hygiene must be adhered to strictly (such as hand washing and application of hand sanitizers)
“Official School hours have been reduced from 6:00 hours to 5:00 hours
Shifting will be enforced in the following order:-
Primary 1-3 Morning hours 7:30am to 12:30pm
Primary 4-6 Afternoon hours12:30 pm to 5:30 pm
Secondary Schools (Day)
JSS 1-2 morning hours 7:30am to 12:30pm
SS 1-2 Afternoon hours 12:30 pm to 5:30pm
Boarding Schools (Junior Section)
JSS I morning hours 7:30am to 12:30pm
JSS II After noon hours 12:30pm to 5:30pm
Secondary Schools (Senior)
SS I morning hours 7:30am to 12:30pm
SS II Afternoon hours 12:30pm to 5:30pm.
