An Association, Malumfashi Advocacy for development Initiatives (Maafords) has donated 300 pairs of shoes to vulnerable children in Malumfashi.
Speaking during the programme, the chairman of the association, Abdulbasir Muhammad Yaro revealed that the gesture is to protect the children against the hookworm infection.
He said, “Hookworms infection is mainly acquired by walking barefoot on contaminated soil. Most people infected with hookworms have no symptoms. Donate a shoe to the shoeless children and help prevent the spread of infection. We are all Human beings not all are being human”.
He further revealed that “Now come to think of a boy who walks barefooted under the same sun. I believe the pain is unendurable! Let donate and save these children from the agonizing pain of walking barefooted”.
The programme themed “Shoe for the shoeless” held at Imam Idris memorial Islamic School Malumfsahi has in attendance; Islamic scholars, Traditional titles holders, Local Government officials, among others.
