DSS invites Mahdi Shehu over alleged Katsina gov’t financial mismanagement claim
A human rights activist and Kaduna-based businessman, Muhammad Mahdi Shehu, has been invited by the Department of State Services.
The invitation, according to Katsina Post findings is not unconnected with his allegations against the Katsina State government financial mismanagement of over N52.6bn in the name of security.
Mahdi Shehu expected to appear at the DSS headquarters in Abuja today, Monday.
While confirming the invitation by the DSS to Katsina Post, Alhaji Mahdi Shehu also said that he will honor the invitation and brief the general public the outcome afterwards.
Katsina Post in a text message sent to Alhaji Mahdi enquire about whether he was invited by the DSS and the possible reason which he confirmed in affirmative.
“Invited yes. Reason I don’t know. I will honor the IV and will surely update the public full blown thereafter. Thanks”, he said.
Later in the day, Mahdi, informed Katsina Post that he honored the DSS invitation and it was a success.
He said that he was with the DSS for over an hour but he was treated nicely.
He further promised to inform the general public what transpired between them in due cause.
Recall that Mahdi Shehu had in July petitioned the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission to investigate Governor Aminu Masari of Katsina State for alleged misappropriation and misapplication of over N52bn spent as security vote in the state from June 2015 to April 29, 2020.
The businessman also asked Masari to resign his position as governor and sack Inuwa as SSG.
