Katsina based Islamic scholar, Malam Aminu Yammawa has appeal president Muhammadu Buhari to consider reopening of boarders for food importation and bring succour to poor masses.
Yammawa in a Friday sermon lamented the surge of food commodities, which according to him had made life miserable to poor Nigerians.
He noted that the only way to reduce such prices is the president to consider reopening of borders for the importation of food.
The cleric explains how the policy has imposed more hardship to poor Nigerians s said” It is never an idea to closed borders for food importation when the country cannot feed itself
“Cost of grains has tripled its initial prices at the market making unaffordable for the poor.”
“Our leaders should fear Almighty Allah. They should know that followers are suffering, and Almighty Allah would surely ask you about it”. He said
The cleric, however, called on the rich to assists the vulnerable in other to bring succour at this trying times.
