APC pics candidate for Bakori constituency bye election
Ibrahim Aminu Kurani has emerged the All Progressives Congress (APC) flag bearer for Bakori constituency in Katsina State in the upcoming by-election to be conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), on Saturday October 31, 2020.
Kurami picked the ticket ahead of four other contestants in the APC primaries held at the Bakori local government secretariat, in Katsina State.
He scored 166 votes closely followed by Haruna Ibrakim who scored 95 votes while Saidu Alhassan scored 17 votes with Suleiman Ibrahim and Ibrahim Dan Alkali scoring one vote each.
Announcing the result, the chairman of the 7-Man Committee dispatched from the national headquarters of the party to conduct the exercise, Alhaji Tukur Abdulkadir Gusau, while announcing the winner also disclosed that 31 invalid votes were recorded from 280 accredited delegates.
The representative of the Katsina State Governor, Alhaji Mustapha Muhammad Inuwa who monitored the conduct of the election also expressed his satisfaction over the process describing it as hitch free and transparent.
He also congratulated all the contestants urging the winner to be magnanimous in victory and urged his colleagues to join hands for the success of the party in the Secondary election.
Dr Kurani while accepting his victory called on other aspirants to rally round the party to ensure victory at the polls.
It would be recalled that the member representing Bakori constituency in the Katsina State House of Assembly, Alhaji Abdurrazaq Tsiga died in May this year, after a protracted illness.
