Katsina ranked least State in capital expenditure in North West
Katsina State Government under the leadership of Governor Aminu Bello Masari has been ranked last among the seven (7) North Western states of Nigeria in terms of capital expenditure implementation (CAPEX) in 2019.
This is contained in a report from the Nigerian Auditor General as compiled and published by a civil society organization, BudgIT.
According to BudgIT report, Nigeria (a civic tech transparency and accountability organization), in 2019, Kaduna State implemented 97% of its N152BN budget for capital expenditure.
Jigawa State implemented 67% of its N91BN budget for CAPEX.
Kano and Katsina ranked lowest in the N/W region with 23% of N133BN and 21% of N144BN implementation, respectively.
The report, in simple terms means that Katsina State budgeted for a whooping sum of N144bn in 2019 for capital projects but was only able to expended little over N30bn.
