Katsina State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency get pioneer board members
The Honorable Commissioner of Health, Engr Nuhu Yakubu Danja has on Wednesday inaugurated the newly constituted governing board of Katsina State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency at his office.
The board is to be chaired by an experienced retired staff of the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), Alhaji Ismaila Isa Kaita.
Recall that His Excellency the Executive Governor of Katsina State Rt. Hon Aminu Bello Masari (Dallatun Katsina) signed the law establishing Katsina State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency (KTSCHMA) on 27th December 2018. As Law No. 10. Of 2018.
During his speech during the inauguration of the board, Engr Nuhu Yakubu said that the Katsina State Contributory Health Care Management Agency (KTSCHMA) is visualized as one of the most powerful social security interventions in the State’s effort geared to the attainment of Universal Health Coverage (UHC).
While congratulating the board members, the Honorable Commissioner also said that the Katsina State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency have successfully conducted Household Baseline Assessment survey for the smooth implementation of the scheme in the state and the findings will soon be made available to the public.
He also said that the new agency will, in the coming days, begin discussing with the organized Labour and other relevant stakeholders in the state to determine and agree on the percentage of contribution of civil/public servant in preparation for take off of the scheme.
The Commissioner also commended the Director General of the agency and his team for working day and night in trying to make the scheme a reality.
While speaking on behalf of the board members, the Chairman of the board, Alhaji Ismaila Isa Kaita thanked the Governor of Katsina State for finding them worthy of the task and promised to offer all that is necessary for the agency to thrive and achieve her mandates.
