Breaking: Katsina gov’t orders reopening of schools on 10th August

The Katsina State Ministry of Education has fixed Monday, 10 August as the resumption day for exit classes in the state.
Those to resume are students in JSS III and SSS III in preparation for their exit examinations. WASSCE has released timetable for 2020 examination this week.
Schools across the country have been under locked for four months following the outbreak of Coronavirus.
Inna statement released Tuesday, the ministry through its spokesman, Mr. Salisu Lawal Kerau, noted that boarding students are expected to resume on Sunday, 9 August.
Kerau explained that the ministry has also extended school hours, stressing that students would also attend classes on Saturdays.
As part of efforts to ensure the students succeed, Kerau said “Schools have been directed to ensure effective coverage of syllabus by organising mandatory special coaching exercises with emphasis on past question Papers and prepare a new Time-table to cater for the above mentioned adjustments”
Some of the guidelines set by the ministry include: compulsory use of face masks by both staff and students, observance of social distancing while in school, adherence to personal and environmental hygiene.
Kerau added that “all teaching and non teaching Staff are to resume on Friday 7th August, 2020”
