Majigiri retains chair as Katsina PDP elect new state officials
Honorable Salisu Yusuf Majigiri has been returned as the elected Chairman of the Katsina State’s opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP for the second time during the state’s congresses conducted today.
Mr Majigiri was declared the winner alongside other 38 contestants for various positions of the party at the state level by the Chairman, state congress committee Mr. Chika Nwaozuzu on Monday evening.
Katsina Post who monitored the conduct of the congress learned that a total of 3,720 delegates from the 34 Local Government Areas of Katsina State casted their votes.
While speaking with the press, Mr Nwaozuzu said he is ‘really amazed’ by the large turnout of delegates and party faithfuls to the congress stressing that that shows Katsina is a PDP state and will clinch power at all levels come 2023.
Mr Nwaozuzu also informed Katsina Post that although all the contestants emerged through consensus, his committee took time and ‘thoroughly’ screened all of them.
Other winners of the congress are Salisu Lawal Uli, Bishir Sada Tsanni as Vice Chairman and Publicity Secretary respectively among others.
Dignitaries who graced the occasion include the party’s gubernatorial candidate in the 2019 general election, Senator Yakubu Lado Danmarke, Hon Hamisu Gambo and Hon. Garba Shehu Matazu among others.
