Police arrest 51 year-old suspected serial rapist for defiling 5 girls in Katsina
A 51-year-old man, simply identified as Jabiru Audu of Tundun Yanlahidda Quarters, Katsina described as ‘serial rapist’ by the police, has been arrested in Katsina for allegedly raping five small girls.
The alleged raped five girls fall between the ages of four to 12 years.
The police said Audu resided in the same house with the victims and their parents.
He allegedly committed the act whenever the grandmother that the children were in her care left home to hawk fried beans cake.
It was also learnt that the victims’ parents, Adamu Salisu, Ibrahim Sani and Hajara Usman, jointly reported the incident at Central Police Station, Katsina
The Spokesman for the Katsina police command, SP Gambo Isah, confirmed the incident in a statement on Monday, adding that Audu had confessed to the crime.
The police spokesman said, “In the course of investigation, the suspect confessed to have lured the young girls severally and had unlawful sexual intercourse with them. Investigation is ongoing please.”
Meanwhile, the police command also revealed that it recently burst a syndicate of car thieves in Katsina.
Nemesis reportedly caught up with the syndicate when the police arrested one Aliyu Hussain, who allegedly stole an unregistered ash colour Honda Civic 2000 model.
According to the police, Hussain’s arrest led to the arrest of two other members of the syndicate, comprising Mati Bashir and Ibrahim Aliyu of Iyatanchi.
