Mahdi’s allegations: Katsina Izala denied involvement in Security fund mismanagement
The Katsina State chapter of the Islamic sect, Jama’atul Izalatul Bidi’a wa Iqamatussuna, JIBWIS, has distanced it self from being involved in the allegations of financial mismanagement labeled against the Katsina State government by a business mogul, Alhaji Mahdi Shehu.
Mahdi Shehu, in a series of media programs, alleged among others, that over N400m was withdrawn from one of the Katsina State’s security account and given to Imams (including that of Izala sect) as clothes allowances.
But in their reply, JIBWIS in Katsina State under the leadership of Sheikh Yakubu Musa debunked the allegations saying that neither the sect nor himself knew anything about the money.
Also, Imam Haris Isah, who is one of Imams fingered in the allegations, said he heard about the allegations from Mahdi Shehu for the first time.
