APC chairman abducted, 18 people killed, many injured in Katsina
An APC Chairman of Matazu Local Government Area of Katsina State, Yusha’u Dissi was abducted by unknown gunmen suspected to be bandits.
Also, no fewer fewer than eighteen people were killed while many more were injured in separate attacks in Katsina State.
The chairman, Daily Trust learnt, was abducted at night alongside a woman whose identity is yet to be known.
Also on the same night, several villages at Batsari Local Government Area were attacked. At Dan Alhaji village the bandits opened fire on villagers and killed one person while they searched house to house at Kimbitsawa village and carted away 18 cows.
They also reportedly broke into many shops and carted away foodstuffs and beverages. At Kandawa village, another person was killed while three others were abducted. At Shirgi village, a 12 year old boy was reportedly killed while many were shot at Tsugunni village over 60 animals were rustled. Also at Wurma village of Kurfi LGA, eight women were reportedly kidnapped on Saturday night.
Dissi’s whereabouts were still unknown as the abductors were yet to contact the family as of yesterday night.
In a similar news, the armed bandits also killed fifteen people working in their farms at ‘Yar Gamji village of Batagarawa local government area on Monday morning.
