Court restrain Prof Hamisu Bichi from being FUDMA new VC
The National Industrial Court of Nigeria has ordered for the restraining of Professor Armayau Hamisu Bichi or any other person as substantive Vice Chancellor of the Federal University Dutsin-Ma.
This is contained in an order of Interim Mandatory Injunction issued by the presiding judge, Justice O. O. Oyewumi dated 4th June.
The order of the court followed a motion filed before the court by the suspended Vice-Chancellor of the University, Professor Haruna Abdu Kaita.
In its ruling, the court gave the following order:
1. The defendants/Respondents their Agents, Servants,Representatives and Privies are mandatorily restrained from giving effect to the appointment of 1st defendant Professor Armayau Hamisu Bichi or any other person as substantive Vice Chancellor of the Federal University Dutsin-Ma.
2. The 1st defendant (Professor Armayau Hamisu Bichi) is equally restrained from occupying the office of the Vice Chancellor, performing the duties and functions of the Vice Chancellor of Federal University Dutsin-Ma.
3. The 1st defendant is restrained from parading himself as the Vice Chancellor of the University howsoever until the hearing and determination of motion on notice filed in this case.
4. The enrollment of this order as well as the motion on notice and hearing notices are to be served on the defendants within 48hours.
Case adjourned to 17th June, 2020 for hearing of motion on notice.
