Distinguished Senator Ahmad Babba Kaita, Representing Katsina North hearthly felicitates with the good people of Katsina State and Muslims world over on the Eid El-Fitri celebration marking the end of the ninth month of the Islamic calendar and the month in which the Holy Qur’an was revealed to Prophet Muhammad Peace and Blessing of Allah be upon him.
In a message signed by his Special Assistant on Media Mallam Abdulkadir Lawal, Senator Kaita while congratulating Muslims on the occasion, says this year’s Eid event is an occasion for sober reflection rather celebration because of the devastating effect of covid19 on people’s lives, hence the need for continued, fervent prayers to God almighty to put an end to the pandemic.
The Distinguished Senator observes that while Muslims faithful have looked forward for this year’s Ramadan fast being the first of the decade, the Eid celebration would be greatly affected this year, as nations around the world take measures to curb the Covid19 pandemic, among which includes the suspension of Eid prayers in most states of the country to prevent further spread of the virus.
Senator Kaita advises that with the ravaging nature of the virus, “Muslims should show understanding with the Leadership at various level and not view the actions of the authorities in calling for the suspension of Eid prayer as a move to prevent worshipers from observing the age long important religious traditions”
He adds that “various clerics have declared that individual and families can observe their Eid prayer at home citing relevant authorities. Asserting that, the unusual way Muslims fasted this year, without the intense spiritual engagements that accompany the Holy Month, the low key Eid celebration is not our own making, but that’s how Almight Allah wills it”.
Ahmad Babba Kaita while wishing the entire Muslim Ummah a very happy celebration inspite the difficult situation, urges faithful to use the occasion to pray fervently to the Almighty Allah to bring an end to the COVID 19 pandemic, insecurity ravaging Katsina State and other part of the country.
