Katsina gov’t expends N170m for renovation of COVID-19 isolation center
Katsina State Government has expanded about 170 million naira for the renovation of IDPs Camp which will serve as Covid 19 Isolation centre.
This even as the state government is making effort to collaborate with a private firm to provide Covic 19 test laboratory before later the state to have it own laboratory in the state.
The state Deputy governor Alhaji Mannir Yakubu stated this when he visited some proposed isolation centres whose are under renovation in the state.
The centres visited include 160 beds IDPs Camp isolation centre which was in hundred percent completion stages, hundred and fifty beds isolation centre located at Nigeria Civil Defence Corps training school along Batsari road and Isolation centre in NYSC camp.
In IDPs isolation centre the Deputy Governor who is also the chairman of the covid 19 emergency response committee expressed satisfaction with the quality of the work done in the centre as all the needed facilities were put in place in the centre.
He said the Covid 19 patients would be transfer to the centre for effective Medicare.
Alhaji Mannir Yakubu explained that the visit was aimed to ascertain the level of progress in the centres.
Also in the NYSC and Civil Defence isolation centres the deputy governor explained that the centre would start function soon.
He called on people to abide by the medical experts advises as they are celebrating eid el fitr as government relaxed lockdown order for the festivity.
The Chairman maintained that, staying at home regular hand washing and observing social distance are effective ways of preventing self from contracting the covid 19 pendamic.
