COVID-19: Katsina gov’t set up 160-bed capacity isolation centre
Katsina State Emargency Response Committee on corona virus says the one hundred and sixty bed capacity isolation centre will be completed within the next seven days.
The Chairman of the committee and also the state Deputy Governor Alhaji Mannir Yakubu stated this when he inspected the centre.
The committee chairman Alhaji Mannir Yakubu in company of some members of the committee was conducted round the centre by the contractor handling the project Arch. Bature Ummarun Gani.
It could be recalled that recently the state government approved the upgrading of the Katsina IDPs camp to isolation centre.
The centre which is one hundred and sixty bed capacity was meant for the people infected with Covid-19 in the state.
As at the time of the committee’s visit, the contracting firm was busy installing machines and other necessary items for effective service delivery.

During the visit Alhaji Mannir Yakubu appreciated the level and quality of the project and appealed to the contractor to maintain the tempo.
The contractor handling the project Arch. Bature Ummarun Gani said what remain is only the installation of some equipment, completion of paint and interlocking among other minor works at the centre.
Arch. Bature who assured that the project will be completed within the stipulated time said the three thousand square meetre interlock and security light at the centre will also be completated within three days.
