Four mobile courts set up to try those who breach the lockdown order in Katsina State have convicted 224 persons for flouting the order.

The courts have also impounded one vehicle.

The Chief Registrar of the Katsina High Courts, Kabir Shuaibu, confirmed the development in a statement.

He said, “As of April 29, 2020, 224 accused persons were convicted and sentenced to pay various sums of money as fine.”

“Two cases were struck out, while one vehicle was impounded.”

The chief registrar stated that, in all, the mobile courts entertained 423 cases, warning people to comply with the lockdown order in their own interest.

He said, “In summary, 423 cases were entertained by the four mobile courts.

The general public is hereby warned to stay indoors as any person caught will be decisively dealt with.”
