Police rescue 11 passengers kidnapped by bandits in Katsina 

The Katsina State Police Command has successfully rescued all the twelve (12) passengers kidnapped by armed bandits on the 22nd March, 2020.

This is contained in a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, Gambo Isah on behalf of the Katsina State’s Commissioner of Police, Sanusi Buba and sent to Katsina Post.

“You will recall that, on 22/03/2020 at about 21:00hrs, a group of bandits, armed with AK 47 rifles, blocked the road between Yantumaki to Burunkuza and attacked a commercial motor vehicle, Bus, belonging to Niger State Government, with registration number NIGER-14B-50NG, driven by one Shuaibu Muhammed, m, aged 45yrs of Niger state and kidnapped the passengers.

“Consequently, yesterday, 24/03/2020 at about 23:50hr, joint operations of Police, Military, repentant bandits in collaboration with the State Government succeeded in rescuing all the twelve (12) passengers kidnapped by the bandits.

“Victims were handed over to the Secretary to the Government of Katsina, Dr. Mustapa Muhammed Inuwa who ordered for their immediate treatment, welfare and subsequent reunion with their respective members of their families. Investigation is ongoing,” the statement concluded.
