Katsina PDP supporters call for the cancelation of wards, LGAs congresses
Some aggrieved members of the Katsina State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has called on the National Working Committee of the party to cancel the recent ward and local government congresses conducted by the party.
They described the exercise, which was conducted across the 361 polling units on the 14th of March and 34 local governments areas of the state on the 21st of March, as illegal and unconstitutional.
The call was made by the leader of the aggrieved members, Dauda Kurfi, who alleged that the conduct of the exercise was in contradiction with rule of law and an existing court order.
But the Chairman of the party in the state, Hon Salisu Yusuf Majigiri, in his reaction dismissed the allegations, insisting that the ward and local government congresses were conducted in line with the party’s constitution and existing electoral laws.
