PDP supporters kick against the conduct of congresses in Katsina

Some supporters of the opposition party of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Katsina State has criticized the leadership of the party for going ahead with the conduct of congress despite a court order restraining them.

The party supporters also faulted the leadership of the party in the state for selling nomination forms after the official closing date as stipulated by the national time table.

While speaking with Katsina Post, one of the aggrieved members of the party, Comrade Bashir Gafia alleged that he was denied the chance to buy his nomination form but later learned that the party gave the forms to some individuals after the official window for the sales of the forms elapsed.

A public issues commentator, Usman Umar, while commenting on the issue urged the leadership of the party as well as the party supporters to resolved their deferences amicably to avoid replicating the incident that happened in Zamfara State recently where the then ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) lost all its seats due to the party’s internal crisis.

Also, a Katsina-based lawyer and human right’s activist, Barrister Ibrahim Maigari faulted the PDP’s decision for conducting the congresses despite the order and described the act as a contempt of court order.

However, the Katsina State Party Chairman, Hon Salisu Yusuf Majigiri insisted that the party did not violate any court order maintaining that the order served to them did not affected.
