Katsina Assembly recovers 50 LGAs trucks from individuals
Heavy duty vehicles and earthmoving equipment belonging to Katsina State numbering about 50 have been reportedly recovered by the state House of Assembly Committee on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Katsina Post learned.
The vehicles recovered includes water tankers, tippers, graders, caterpillars and excavators.
Katsina Post reliably learnt that some of the vehicles and equipment were recovered from various parts of the country and even Niger Republic.
The House Committee ordered their recovery following the discovery that some of the vehicles and the heavy equipment were leased out without appropriate authorisation.
The Chairman of the committee, Garba Dankajiba, was said to have given the various local government councils a five-day ultimatum to return the vehicles and equipment.
It was further learnt that some of the vehicles were towed to the House of Assembly complex following the ultimatum.
