The members of the opposition’s Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Katsina State has today exercised their franchise by participating in the party’s wards congress and elected their party officials at the wards level, Katsina Post learned.

The congresses which was held simultaneously in all the 361 wards and supervised by the Ward Congress Organizing Committee from the National Executives of the Party, Security and INEC officials was largely peaceful across the State.

While speaking with the press shortly after the process at his ward, the Katsina State chairman of the PDP, Hon. Salisu Yusuf Majigiri commended the peaceful conduct of the congress and thanked the Security and INEC officials for ensuring a good democratic processes.

Hon Majigiri also commended the party members across the state for their resilience during the days of the party in opposition and prayed that the ward congresses will be the stepping stone for the party to take over the State in 2023.

Speaking while observing the exercise at Sabuwar Rigiya Ward in Mashi Local Government, the Chairman of the PDP national delegation for the Ward Congress, Chika Nwazozu, lauded the party faithful for their response and peaceful conduct throughout the exercise.

Katsina Post also learned that the Katsina State’s ex-Governor Ibrahim Shehu Shema and the party’s gubernatorial candidate in the 2019 general election, Senator Yakubu Lado Danmarke were all in their wards and participated in the wards congresses.
