The Katsina State Governor, Rt Hon. Aminu Bello Masari has warned that the present APC administration will not condone partisan politics in the implementation of social intervention programmes in the state.

Alhaji Aminu Masari was speaking during the flag off of training of 430 participants from 22 local governments on community based targeting Activity and Enumeration Exercise held at Katsina motel conference Hall, Katsina.

The coordinator of the National social safety Net programme, Alhaji Aliyu Isah Girka explained that the participants were selected to compile data of poor and vulnerable households in 22 local government areas in Katsina state.

The Governor noted that the successful implementation of the social interventions will stop vulnerable groups from sending children to Almajiri system and early marriage in the state.

He expressed optimism that the social interventions introduce by the APC are the best legacy that will be bequeath to Nigerians by president Muhammad Buhari.

According to the Governor, the social interventions are better than the construction of one thousand new kilometers of road as the programme seeks to raise the income generating capacities of the most vulnerable in the society.

“If we want a peaceful society, there must be justice in whatever leaders do for the followers”, he said.

Earlier, the state commissioner of Budget, Alhaji Faruk Lawal Jobe appealed to the participants to appreciate the government’s programme for enhance living condition of the people.

Alhaji Faruk Jobe therefore asked the participants to take advantage of the opportunity to reduce poverty and unemployment.

He expressed gratitude to Governor Masari for the support to the successful implementation of the programme.

The coordinator of the National social safety Net programme, Alhaji Aliyu Isah Girka explained that the participants were selected to compile data of poor and vulnerable households in 22 local government areas in Katsina state.

He said that the exercise had been carried out in 12 local governments in the three senatorial zones in the state.

Alhaji Aliyu Girka said data obtained in the twelve local governments showed over seventy thousand unemployed household heads, over 23 thousand unemployed youths, over fifteen thousand pregnant mothers, over 16 thousand lactating mothers, over twenty thousand widows, over 256 thousand children, over twelve thousand people living with disability, over 66 thousand old people and over four thousand divorcees in the twelve local governments.

He therefore said the training for the 430 staff of the remaining 22 local governments were selected based on their grade levels of relevant disciplines to facilitate the compilation of those to benefit from the social interventions.

The special Adviser to the Governor on Economic Empowerment and social intervention programme, Alhaji Abdulkadir Mamman in a welcome address assured that the programme will be made to achieve success in the state.
