Katsina gov’t approves N4.2bn for 28km road
The Katsina State Executive council has approved N4.2bn for the construction of 28km Kafur to Mahuta road.
Also, the council approved the conversion of a street light from Solar powered to conventional electricity from Daura roundabout to Shinkafi road at the cost of N176.7m.
This was disclosed to the newsmen by the Commissioner for Works, Housing and Transport of the state, Hon. Tasi’u Dandagoro during a press briefing at the Government House Press center shortly after the executive council meeting in February.
The meeting was chaired by the Katsina State Governor, Rt Hon Aminu Bello Masari and had the Chief of staff, Alhaji Muntari Lawal, Head of Service, Alhaji Idris Tune, Commissioners and Special Advisers.
According to him, the conversion of the street light is to reduce the cost of maintenance and prevent vandalization from unpatriotic citizens.
It could be recall that Katsina Post earlier reported that the council also approved the expenditure of no less than N4.9bn for the execution of various developmental projects with direct bearing on the people of the state.
Also project for the expansion and renovation of Katsina House in Abuja at the cost of N169.1m was also approved.
