Katsina gov’t expends N4.2bn for 28km road, N169.1m for Katsina House in Abuja

The Katsina State Executive Council chaired by the Katsina State Governor, Alhaji Aminu Bello Masari has approved the expenditure of no less than N4.9bn for the execution of various developmental projects with direct bearing on the people of the state.

This was disclosed to the newsmen by the Commissioner for Works, Housing and Transport of the state, Hon. Tasi’u Dandagoro during a press briefing at the Government House Press center shortly after the executive council meeting on Wednesday.

According to the Commissioner, out of the said amount, the council approved the sum of N4.2bn for the construction of 28km Kafur to Mahuta road project.

Hon Tasi’u Dahiru also said the council has approved the expansion and renovation of Katsina House in Abuja at the cost of N169.1m as well as the conversion of a street light from Solar powered to conventional electricity from Daura roundabout to Shinkafi road at the cost of N176.7m.

According to him, the conversion of the street light is to reduce the cost of maintenance and prevent vandalization from unpatriotic citizens.

On his part, the Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Alhaji Farouk Jobe also said that the council approved the purchase of 80 electricity transformers to boost power supply in the state.
