Justice Amiru Sanusi, one of Supreme Court Judges from Katsina retires at 70 years

The Katsina State Governor, His Excellency Rt. Hon. Aminu Bello Masari, CFR attended the send-off ceremony of Justice Amiru Sanusi, Justice Amiru is one of the Supreme Court Judges, who retired at the age of seventy as he attained the mandatory retirement as enshrines by the Constitution of Nigeria.
The Retired Judge, hailed from Katsina State and one among the 14 Judges of the Supreme Court. The ceremony held at Conference Hall of the Supreme Court Abuja under the chairmanship of CJN Dr Ibrahim Tanko Muhammad.
Justice Amiru Sanusi who was born in February,1950 therefore attained the mandatory retirement age of 70 years on 2nd January, 2020.
The Funtua born icon of the judiciary, justice Amiru Sanusi was a judge in katsina state between 1990 to 1998 before being commissioned to the court of Appeal.
Justice Amiru Sanusi hold Bachelor of law from ABU Zaria and was called to bar in 1978.
He was nominated as supreme Court judge by former president Good luck Jonathan in 2015 and a recipient of the National Award of officer of the federal Republic- OFR.
In separate remarks, the chief judge of the federation, Justice Ibrahim Tanko Muhammad, the Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Alhaji Abubakar Malami SAN, the former Attorney General and Minister of Justice in the second Republic, Chief Richard Akinjide SAN and the president of the Nigeria Bar Association-NBA, Dr Paul Usoro showered encomiums on the celebrant, Justice Amiru Sanusi.
They contended that justice Amiru Sanusi had contributed his quota to the development of the judiciary and the legal system in Nigeria.
Responding, justice Amiru Sanusi in a lengthy speech expressed gratitude to the judicial family for the journey to his successes as a jurist.
