Breaking: Masari dragged to court over ban on use of motorcycles
One Muhammad Sani Zangina has dragged the Katsina State Governor, Rt. Hon. Aminu Bello Masari, his Attorney General, Barr. Ahmad El-Marzuq, the Katsina State House of Assembly and the Katsina State Police command before the state High Court over the recent law by the state Government to restricting the movement of motorcycles from 7 pm to 6 am in the state.
Katsina Post learned that Mr. Zangina through his lawyers has in a case filled dated Tuesday,28th January 2020 demanded the court to declear the order by the Governor of Katsina State ‘unconstitutional and therefore null and void’.
He also asked the court to declear the order as amount to violation of his fundamental right to fair hearing.
Mr. Zangina also asked the court to restrain the police from arresting people on motorcycles as being unconstitutional.
Recall that the Governor of Katsina State has on the 20th of January signed a law restricting the use of motorcycles from 7 pm to 6 am in the state.
Also, yesterday, the Governor demanded that the officers of the Nigerian Air force to flush out anybody they see using motorcycles in the forests of the states.
